Paul L. Horne, b 2 Aug 1915; d 5 Oct 1980; last residence Saint Louis, Saint Louis Co, MO; SS card issued in AR.
He would have filled out an application for a SS card, and it should have the names of his parents.Once youhave the name of his father, you could check the 1920 census, when Paul would be about 5 yrs old.You will pick up names of his siblings. If any of those siblings are 10 yrs old, or older, then the family would also be on the 1910 census, too.
You might look for an obituary, also. But, if he did live in Saint Louis, obits are not as good a source in larger towns.Small towns tend to include more info in obits. But, survivors may be listed.A good way to pick up married names of females in the family.
Although some military records were lost in a fire, it is my understanding the Veteran's Administration sometimes has files.See if you have a VA Office near you.Contact them and see if they can order out his files for your viewing. You will have to go in and look at the file, and if you want copies, request them and copies will be sent to you later. There will be a copying fee. That file might give name of wife, children etc. They do vary on contents.Be prepared with as much info on your father as you can collect. His Soc Sec number, date of birth and death are good starts.
I'm sorry you didn't get to meet your father, best wishes in locating members of your extended family.
