I'm sorry I'm so used to talking to researchers, I sometimes forget and "fly a little high."Obit is an obituary.SSDI is Social Security Death Index -- it is a computerized index that begins with deaths of about 1963, a few a little earlier. So, people who died earlier then that do not show up on the index, but that does not mean they did not have a Soc Sec number.
For further info on the late Morris Lee Norred, I suggest you look for his obituary.Often survivors are listed, and it also is a good way to pick up married names of female members of the family.Dallas Public Library has a large genealogy collection, and probably has copies of local obits.
I'm curious as to why you think that is the wrong Floyd?I found Carrie:
Carrie Mae Reneau, b 30 July 1909; d 10 May 1988 Dallas Co, TX; last residence Dallas, Dallas Co, TX; SS card issued in TX.
If you go to the above site for TX births, type in father's last name Reneau, and first name John -- there will be 10 entries, 3 in Dallas Co, TX.Although two different mothers listed, I have the feeling it is the same John.Note middle name is Louis/Lewis -- I have found lots of data entry errors on TX indexes.Do you know John's middle name/initial?Do you know if he was married more then once? Also, one of the boys is named Jesse, maybe for John's father?Maybe someone in the family will recognize the name/names of some of those children(?)
If you're sure Paul had an infant daughter when he died, and if she was born in CA here are a couple of "possibles."The first one has middle name of Paulette, which leads me to think she is best match:
Alice Paulette Reneau, b 12 Feb 1953 San Diego Co, CA; mother Barce.
Louise Agnes Reneau, b 27 Apr 1953 San Diego Co, CA; mother Ames.
[No Reneau females born in 1952 in CA]
I don't want to give you too much at one time, so when you've followed up on some of the above and are ready for more, let me know and I'll give you some info on using the GenWeb sites.GenForum sites are very good, but GenWeb sites are formatted differently and contain different information. Happy Hunting.
