Looking for more info on Reinhart Wittig, who married Anna Cramer. Any suggestions on where to visit in Fredericksburg? He lived in Fredericksburg, Texas and may have lived in Idaho for a time. He was from Germany, possibly Leipzig (in the Saxon region). He committed suicide in front of their only child, Alvin (Alwin) Wittig, reportedly because he failed as a farmer and at making a farmer's insurance co-op succeed. He is mentioned in a book by Charles Wiseman called "Fredericksburg Texas the First 50 Years" (p. 69 English translation) as being president of the Gillespie County Mutual Insurance Society and also as director of the "Arion" choral club at Palo Alto Creek. Alvin was born in Fredericksburg May 4, 1889 which means Reinhart came to US from Germany before that date. Reinhart (or possibly a brother) reportedly was a well-known symphony conductor in Leipzig. Reinhart Wittig -> Alvin Wittig -> Donald Alvin Wittig (of San Antonio, my Grandfather).
