Thanks again, Joan, I got smart this morning, and tried typing in Authon Cemetery on my MSN search and came up with a Fort Tour, which listed numerous historical markers located in Parker County, which listed Authon's. Then found a GPIS link of the cemetery, which gave a rough location of the site. Called a cousin living in Weatherford, and found her financee's family moved to that community when he was young, and some directions. It appears to be near Garner Texas, where my grandparents settled around 1886, which may be more familiar to me when I get there tomorrow. My grandparents, father and many others are buried in the Ballew Springs Baptist Cemetery north and west of Garner out in the boonies, which is hard to find if you dont know the way. I tried the lady who handles the lookups on the cemetery, but received an error message in return, that her email wasnt available. Wasnt aware that so much early Texas history is represented in that county, my father never talked much about the history of that county, though he spent a lot of his adult life staying there when not working on the Cotton Belt in Arkansas and Shreveport La.
