As to the census records, no I had not seen them, although I do have the MCEWEN information virtually as you had posted it.I will add these records to my notes, however.And yes, the reversing of names is, while not all too common, something to keep in mind.
Actually, I was sort of "trolling for fresher fish". I am looking for descendents of Ethel L. MCEWEN, and, knowing she had married a William STURDIVANT, was hoping to make contact with one or more of their children.I should have worded my post to have a narrower focus, huh?But then I wouldn't have heard from you - I like the way this worked out much better.
At any rate, you did give me something else to think about - the STURDIVANT line itself.I had not planned on climbing that branch so soon, but maybe now would be a good time to start.
