Can anyone share any particulars about Ross' Station? There used to be a railroad sign designating the place (at the end of Willow Drive in Lake Jackson, Brazoria County), but it was removed by the railroad company (or somebody else) when Missouri Pacific was bought by Union Pacific. The old Handbook of Texas simply states that Ross was "a station on the Houston and Brazos Valley Railroad eight miles south of Angleton." I'd be interested in any information about the place. Who was the Ross it was named after? When was it so named? Was it a town? Was there a railroad siding or loading platform, etc.?
