My Aunt, Dorthey Aylor, married Lawrence O. Sharp in the late 1940s or early 1950s.
They were in Weaver, Hopkins Co. TX in April 1953 when my Aunt Dorthey came to her Mother's funeral in Amarillo, Texas. Dorthey Aylor (1)Martin Sharp died May 1, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas.
I lost track of Lawrence O. Sharp and do not know his date of birth or place of birth but he had a soft Southern accent, like Alabama or Georgia, at least somewhere Southern, unlike our sort of nasal Amarillo, Texas accent. I do not know when he was born but he was older than Dorthey who was born Oct. 24, 1928, he was PROBABLY born before 1925, he had black hair, beginning to recede at the front and it seems it was graying at the temples, and I don't recall the color of his eyes but I think they were dark. He had a sister who had died prior to 1953, I don't recall her name, just hearing he had a sister who had died. That is about all that I recall. I was a teenager when I met him and TOTALLY lost in my own world of knowing everything and nothing.
I would love to locate their marriage, I am not sure where or when they married, probably the late 1940s or very early 1950s.
I do not know if he had children by a previous or later marriage. He and Dorthey had no children.
Any help locating him or his family would be appreciated now that I am doing genealogy and finding how little I really do know. They lived in Amarillo, Texas at one time. I was in California during the time they were together and only saw them when they were out here briefly during the late summer of 1953, they went back to Texas in Nov. 1953. Any help or advice would be really appreciated.
