I'm willing to bet Abigail didn't just up and buy that much land on her own, and it was probably bought first by George.

I took a quick look, the Family History Library, for Lafayette Co, MS,has microfilmed land records 1830-1889, so you can get the film out to your local Family History Center.You can see when he bought, then if she sells, you will know "where"he died.Many times researchers over look land records.(^_^)

If you haven't used land records before, I might tell you watch for the "et al" in the index.Only the first person named on a document is named in an index, followed by et al, so it could be a son, daughter, or son-in-law.I love those et als, it means and others (et ux means and wife).It's those "others" that can be the clinchers.
