There are two Emma Carltons on the 1880 census index, I went with the one born in TX.After sending response to you, I was cleaning off index site for more research for someone else when I just clicked on the "other" Emma b LA.Now, I'm not so sure my first response was good.This Emma has a brother named Curtis and your Emma named a son Curtis, not too common.You may want to check out this Carlton family, too.
