On the same page of the 1860 census with Perry there also is a Alexander Myers 37 and his family, he was born in MS, too. Previous page is Sylvester 27, b MS, a few pages away is Ervin 25 b MS and in the middle of those pages is a Francis(sic) 55 b SC.She owns land, if she is the widow of Asa, then I would look for land and probate records in Nacogdoches Co, TX.Francis has minor children with her, so Asa would have left minor children, look for guardianship records for them.Yes, even though the mother was alive, the court would appoint a guardian, not to physically take the children and raise them, but to report back to the court if any of the estate is sold etc, to protect the interests of those minor children.Sometimes those records can be very interesting.
When final sale of that land is made, all heirs will have to sign off, see if your Perry is one of them.
