Yes, I realize that there is no one by that last name on the SS Death records.I know that not everyone is on that list.My mother is not even on it.She died 12 years ago.
The above link is the ONLY reference to that name I have found since the 1870 Census when they were living in Dallas Co. Alabama. They are not on the 1880.My granny, Mae Nastrasky, returned to Murray Co. Ga. and married Hardy Greeson.Ido know that there were 2 sons and my gggrandmother as children in this family. Oh, and the last name has appeared in the census and other documents as Nasstrassky, Nastrasky, Nasterasky, Nastraski, Nostrasky, Nastrosky, Mashorazki (or something like that, illegible).
Granny moved back to Georgia. One of her brothers returned to Ga. for a visit around WWI.No one living was old enough to really remember him.All is known is they had moved farther west,he had 2 suitcases full of clothes, one filled with fine clothing and the other with common. That way he could dress as the rest of the family. And that he "prayed funny".Granny never really heard from them after that. I do know that Granny's mother's father and mother (Wiley and Sylvia Pierce) moved on to Dallas Texas with another daughter.
So,you see how I am stuck. An odd name, few clues, no SS Death, no searchable Telephone #, etc.I do have a name on a list in East Texas.
If anyone has any ideas for me,they would be deeply appreciated.
