I found this info while researching my James Hibbett of TN ancestors:
FEATHERSTON FINDINGS, Volume 20.FEATHERSTON FINDINGS with THE FEATHERSTONE SOCIETY of England: p. 53, Nancy Hibbett, ma: 28 Jun 1849; d: May 1854 - Four granddaughters Louisa, Martha, Phebe Ann and Mary Featherston. Four sons and two daughters David C. Hibbett, Robert H. Hibbett, Joseph F. Hibbett, John J. Hibbett, Elizabeth Sharp and Louisa Sharp. Graveyard where husband James Hibbett is buried in Macon Co. and grave of Mary Y. Featherston. Ex: John J. Hibbett. Wit: James Barr and William A. Lauderdale (wo, 418).
I'm a direct descendant of James Hibbett & Nancy Crawford, Sumner Co. TN thru Hibbett sons' lines: Joseph Franklin & Martha Louise Cannon; Ira Kneeland & Mary Lucinda Alexander; Eugene Alexander & Lola Garrett James; and, my grandparents: Hoffman DeWitt & Marguerite Lydie Champagne.
Also found in my research of my early Texian ancestors (pre-Republic of TX, circa 1820s) of another line: Robert H. Hibbett, who was granted 4498.60 acres in Fisher and Jones counties. He is also listed as a colony member of that time in the Sons of the Republic of Texas genealogy sources. The timeframe fits that of the 4 brothers listed in the Featherston material. He might be the Robert Hibbett you're seeking. There are several spelling variations of the Hibbett family name throughout history to present day.
