I know my grandmother Elizabeth Twitty Spangler was born in Blacksburg VA...not sure of the year but her birthday was December 13. She died in August of 1982. Her parents were Mary Elizabeth Camper and William C. Twitty[I believe he may have been born ca.1798 in South Carolina and died in Alabama....no date mentioned]
William C. Twitty's father was Wynne Twitty who supposedly descended from Capt. Thomas Twitty 1707-1779 and Mary Wynne 1708-1780. In the letter I have, there is mention of a George W. Twitty b. 1836[insinuated as the Wynne Twitty named above]. He had a brother named William Whitfield Twitty Jr. born 1848.
My grandmother met my grandfather in Blacksburg when he was attending VMI...his name is Robert Hugh Spangler. He had worked at one time for the railroad in WV...he died in 1972 0r '75. After VMI, they moved to Crimora VA and he went to work for DuPont Co. in Waynesboro.
My grandmother made her home in Crimora and did income taxes for people. She collected antiques and loved baseball.
So far, along with the information of her siblings I previously posted, this all I have found. Thank you for your wanting to help me...I hope this helps? I am basically starting from scratch and three pieces of paper[the letter] :P Suzanne
