I'm sorry, I didn't see this first.Sarah Ann Gossett Sewell Thorp obviously married 2 men named THORP/THARP/THORPE/THORPS who are probably related.
2nd husband John P. THORPS (b. 1845 PA, PA, PA) in 1880 Throckmorton Co., TX Census.
3rd husband William M. THARP (b. 1826 PA, PA, PA) in the 1900 Clayton, Union Co., New Mexico Census.(I think I found William in Butler Co., PA in 1880 as a widower and farm laborer).
When I looked closer at the 1900 Union Co., NM Census I noticed that what I thought was a child Bill was really Bell; therefore, it is Sarah's daughter Maybelle DAWSON who she is living with in in the 1910 Tom Green Co., TX Census as well as living with her son Willis P. THORP in the 1930 Potter Co., TX Census.
There were several Gossetts in Texas who were sons of Elijah Gossett (1788 TN-1848 VanZandt Co., TX) and wife Elizabeth Stone Edwards (1789 TN-1849 Houston,TX).!Residence: 1816 St. Clair County, Illinois Residence: 1820 Tennessee Residence: 1833 Near Marlin, Texas Residence: 1834 Hurricane Bayou, Nacogdoches County, Texas
!Occupation: 1825 Justice Of The Peace, Bolivar, Hardeman County, Tennessee
!In the Military 1836 Texas Revolution - Under Captain William Spurlock.
!In the Military 1836 Captain Elisha Clapp's Company Of Rangers
Some of Elijah's sons spelled their names Gossitt/Gossett and etc; Elijah's Sons: John Lockridge GOSSETT b. 1810 (Sarah's father) Andrew Edwards GOSSETT b. 1812 John Van Dyke GOSSITT b. 1814 William S. GOSSITT b. 1819-1824 Charles Ervin GOSSETT b. abt 1820 Lee Cameron Gossett b.1821 John Parker Gossett b. abt 1826 and there might be another named W. M. GOSSETT
Most of the sons lived and died around the Houston, TX area.I don't have much on John Parker and W.M. GOSSETT. But the rest I have some on.
