1920 census 308 W. Jefferson, Dallas, Dallas Co, TX:
Smith, Frank, h, 65, md, b MS, ?,?
" Annie, w, 55, md, b ?, ?, ?
Most of the birth locations I could not read.Frank was a matress maker/factory.
Smith, James F., h, 54 M(2) 9 yrs, b MS, TN, TN
" Harvy N., w, 49, M(2) 9 yrs, 6 ch, 5 lvg, b AL, AL, AL
" Edgar P., s, 20, sgle, b AR, MS, AR
" Clarence R., s, 15, b AR, MS, AR
" James F. Jr, s, 8, b TX, MS, AL
Well, looks like both have been married before, and her 4 living children from previous marriage must be out on their own.
James Franklin should be on the 1900 census in AR with his first wife and at least sons Edgar and Clarence.
Since you know when and where these died, have you obtained a copy of their death certificates? They should show the names of their respective set of parents.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
