Joan, thanks for providing the Tennessee information. It is them, I'm sure, since Henry was a cabinetmaker, confirmed in the newspaper interview with W.E. McCracken. That really blows open a brick wall!So much more to consider!I'm trying now to find Ellen's brother Hilliard Cummings and sister Susan Cummings Riffle (sp?) and I think Hilliard went to Tennessee.Henry's grandmother died in Lawrenceburg, TN.
I have Willis E. McCracken's obituary - I recently bought a copy of it from Houston Public Library, along with the two newspaper articles I mentioned previously.
I wish I could find his paintings somewhere.I mentioned them to HPL, but they didn't respond with any information about the art works. They probably ended up on someone's trash heap.
Thanks again for looking in Tennessee. My only online access to the census is through Heritage Quest.I really need to take my 30-minute bus ride to NARA at the Denver Federal Center, and get back to the census records.
Anyone with additional information for me is welcome to write directly.Joyjoychi@quixnet.net
