I can not even begin to express my thoughts right now. Your letter brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you so much.
The more I learn the more PROUD I am! I also have black hair and high cheek bones to prove it too!
I am trying to keep good records - I have a notebook and am LOST without it! Thank you for the idea of writing down the websites! Great Idea!
My husband calls me Miss Google! ;-)
The problem, as I see it is this- please let me know if I'm way off....
My great grandmother's WHITE name was Mary Williams and was just a little child when Rev Williams took her in. I may be wrong- but I just don't see her on the "Dawes Rolls". I mean... when and how would she have done that? Of course... maybe SHE DID in fact remember her true family name. But what would HER PROOF been? And...the problem is I just don't know what name she would have remembered since - I don't have a NAME, Dates, documents. What I do have... if anything is the stories my granny love to tell.... unfortunately, I didn't listen close enough. When I began to understand the importance... it's too late to ask her. I really would think it wonderful to find her family..... for our children.
I just wrote about a childhood memory...of bells all over a dress. If there is one...do you have any idea the meaning behind that?
