My great grandfather, John Carter (1853 - June 15,1960 in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi) was Creek Indian, White, & African American with 12 wives and 32 children. He was a nomad and traveled the Madison Dixon Line.
He lived in Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Virginia. We have yet to find his exact place of birth. From 1900-1960, he had children born in Arkansas and (Coahoma County & Tallahatchie County, Mississippi).We only know information on the five children that was born to Ora Webb. She died from complications from child birth with her twins.
John Carter’s youngest children were Annie Mae and Ananias (Amnise), twins, both born in Dublin, MS in 1937, they both died in Memphis, Tennessee. He had a cousin name Bob (born abt 1892) & Alice Carter in Alligator, Bolivar County, MS. His eldest son, Van Carter (abt 1903-1980) was born in Marianna, Arkansas. Jessie Bell Carter McDonald (abt 1918-1989) lived in Memphis and was the second oldest and elder female child. Nathaniel “Big” Carterowned a store corner store on Thomas & Firestone in Memphis, TN.
Also John Carter had a brother name Amzi Carter.

I am hoping someone out there is a descendent or know more about this Carter Family than I do..
