In researching it seems the library doesn't have records prior to 1903 on deaths. It does state contacting the County Clerks Office for possible records that may have been recorded prior to 1903. Since the early records didn't give any information as the death certificates of later years, chances are it is just a list with a name, date and place on them that I have found on other family members. Meaning, no name given for the mother and father of the deceased person.
I do have the name of the cemetery where he is buried along with other members of my family.....5 marked and 5 unmarked. I have figured out the names of those in the unmarked graves however, though need to verify three of them.
I am in California, so not able to go to the library, Clerks office or cemetery in person.
