According to on-line trees, James Jordan dies 1862/3 in the Civil War.
Margaret Jordan, 32 married W.[William] G. Driskell, 29 b. Mercer Co. on 1/21/1869 in Anderson Co. Ky
I haven't found the Driskells in 1870 census.By 1880, they have 2 daughters, Bettie b. ~1870 and Aletha b. ~1872.
The 6 yr old James A Jordan who is living with Thomas's family in 1860 census is the son of James's brother John Jordan and his wife Almeda Walker.John and Almeda died within days of each other in 1855 of Cholera.
I believe I found both Thomas J. and cousin James A. living with another uncle- Philip Jordan and his wife Fannie in 1870, Mercer Co. KY.I lose Philip & Fannie after 1870.I think James A. Jordan is living with another relative in 1880, and Thomas is not located. [Maybe heading for TX.]
Cousin James A. Jordan also goes to TX and dies in FT. Worth in 1939.See DC on familysearch.
Margaret Beauchamp Jordan Driskell died in 1898, and is buried at New Liberty Christian Church Cemetery, Lawrenceburg, Anderson CO. KY.findagrave.
It appears that James P. Jordan (Thos. father) and his father John M. Jordan both owned slaves, so James most likely fought for the confederacy in the Civil War.
One other Note- Thomas J. Jordan and Mary Ballard also had a son, Phillip b. Nov. 1895 who only appears on the 1900 census.
