He married my grandfather's sister "Dudie" (Anna Dewees Victoria) Foster [b. Oct 27, 1887, Meridian, Lauderdale, MS] in Hunt County, Texas on Aug 28, 1901. She was barely 14 years old at the time.
James and Anna had a son, James Andrew Cronan, born Sep 18, 1902. The family lived in Cornish, Indian Territory (near Ringling in present-day Jefferson County, OK) in 1902.
After that I'm unable to find any traces of James L. Cronan or James Andrew Cronan.
Anna Foster, however, is registered as a student at Tougaloo College under her maiden name in 1904. She graduated in 1908 and went on to become a teacher at Lincoln School in her home town Meridian, Lauderdale, MS.
In the US Federal Census 1900 I've found a James Cronan in Greenville, Hunt, TX, born abt. 1865, who is a widower with two sons (11 and 14). Could he be the person I'm seeking?
Is there anyone out there who knows anything about the fate of James L. Cronan (18??–19??) and his son James Andrew Cronan (1902–19??)?
