Elizabeth Mixon Gardner, later Witt B. before 1835
Hello,
I’m searching for info on Elizabeth Mixon, her ancestors and her descendants.Elizabeth was born sometime before 1835, possibly in Dallas County, AL.I do not know her parents’ names or if she had siblings. She married at least twice and had at least 7 children.
Her first husband was John Ballard Gardner.Sometime between 1849 and 1855, Elizabeth and John moved with their older children to De Soto Parish, LA.They had at least 5 children.Their names were:
George Edward Gardner, born 1845-1848, AL
John B. Gardner, born 1849, AL
Bettie Gardner, born 1855, LA
Augusta Gardner, born 1857, LA
Mary Gardner, likely born before 1862, LA
Later, she married Leroy Witt. They may have been living in De Soto, Caddo or Morehouse Parish in LA.They had at least 2 children whose names were:
Leroy Witt, born 1869-1875, LA
Mixon Witt, born 186?-187?, LA?
Elizabeth died around 1888, possibly in Caddo Parish, LA.
While some of Elizabeth’s children stayed in LA, others moved to MO, TX and to the West.
I would appreciate any information that you are able to share and will share what I have with you.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Stanley
