Hi Karen, I'd contact the Emery County Recorder, emerycounty.com/recorder/index.htm and ask if they are the keeper of early marriage licenses (can't tell by their web site) and if they have any from 1897.
The Western States Marriage web site says their marriage certificate can be found in Volume A, p. 169.
The other place you can find the parents' names is on their death certificates (if the Informant was knowledgeable) and sometimes in their obituaries.
I tried to trace John and Mable. In 1900 they were living in Riverside, Bingham, ID. John W. Gittings, b. PA, 29, marr 2 yrs, farm laborer. Mable H., b. Canada-Engl. Aug 1873, immigrated 1873. Charles A., b. UT July 1899.
I didn't find either any of them in 1910. I didn't find John's death info either.
In 1920 a Mabel Tittings [what appears on Census but someone added Gittings], b. Canada, 40, imm 1880, widow. Albert [could be charles], b. UT, 20, single, day laborer. Carrie, b. OR, 18, single. Vivian, b. OR, 11.
A Mabel Gittings Died: 17 March 1924, Portland [county could be Multnomah, Clackamas or another which escapes me right now] per death cert #735. Source: Oregon Death Index 1898-2008.
You'll find an obituary and cemetery lookup volunteers at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volor.html Scroll down to Multnomah and choose ONE volunteer at a time.
A charles Alb [field often shortened] Gittings Born: July 1899 Spouse: France Gittings Died: 11 March 1973, Multnomah Co., OR per death cert 73-04795. Source: Oregon Death Index 1903-1998.
I didn't find anything for the girls. I imagine they married. Successful Searching!
