Seeking information on Kathern Henderson who lived in Thistle, Utah Co.She is found on the 1900, 1910 1920 census living in Thistle. In 1900 she is living with her husband James Henderson and they are proprietors of a hotel. Also living with them is the brother of James Henderson listed as "Albert" Henderson (but we think this is a mistake for it really is his brother Robert). Also living as a servant in this hotel is a Mary Atkins who we believe was the niece of James and Robert Henderson.
James Henderson died 12 July 1907 leaving Kathern Henderson a widow. Robert Henderson died 13 July 1938 in Thistle and is buried in MT. Olivet Cemetery in SLC.Both men seem to be tied somehow to the railroad.
Kathern Henderson died October 16, 1930 and is buried in the MT. Olivet Cemetery in SLC.She was born in Denegal, Ireland May 30, 1858.Informant on the Death Certificate is W. B. Payne of Thistle, Utah.
We have two different photographs of James Henderson and Kathern Henderson with a young girl but we have no idea of whom the girl is.I have seen another photo (not in my possession) of two or three children who are unknown ... the photo was taken in Springville, Utah. All photo's appear to be taken about 1900 ... give or take!
We don't know if James and Kathern had children ... was this girl in the photo's their child?Robert Henderson never married so we know the child is not his.
Is there an obituary for Kathern Henderson? Is there a tie to this informant on the Death Certificate to W. B. Payne?Any information would be appreciated.
My tie is that James and Robert Henderson were the brothers to my grandmother, Jessie Henderson-Atkins (1855-1947).All came from the Shetland Islands (Scotland) in the 1880's settling first in Colorado and then to Utah and California.
