My name is Gregory Walters and I am the gg-grandson of Isaac and Ann Elizabeth (Taliaferro) Walters of Madison Co., VA. I have tons of info on our Walters family that I have been researching for many, many years. In fact, I have a school book dated Jan. 1819 written in Isaac's own handwriting where a lot of family history is written. To answer your questions in your post: Isaac Walters (23 June 1803 - 19 Jan 1878, farmer and plantation owner of Arrowpoint Farm, Madison Co., VA
Isaac's parents:George (ca. 1774 - 1830) and Nancy (Harvey) Walters (ca. 1779 - btwn. 1830-40) They were married in Orange Co., VA on 30 Sep 1800 in St. Thomas Church in Orange City.
Ann Elizabeth (Taliaferro) Walters' parents were John Hay Taliaferro and Elizabeth (Porter) Taliaferro who were married in Madison Co., VA on 25 Feb 1809.
Isaac's siblings were William (11 Oct 1804 - 7 Feb 1875) bachelor and Jane E. Walters (17 May 1810 - 1 June 1877) spinster.
Isaac only had the one wife, Ann Elizabeth (26 Dec 1809 - 14 Dec 1863) whom he married on 28 Dec 1827 also in St. Thomas Church, Orange City. She probably died at Arrowpoint while two of her sons were fighting for the CSA nearby during the Civil War. Beginning with Isaac and Ann, many, many Walters are buried in the Walters family cemetery on the grounds of Arrowpoint. Isaac & Ann had a total of 5 children.I can give you their names and dates later.
I have lots more info before and after Isaac if you are interested.
Since there is so much info, I think it best to correspond with you via regular email. By the way, how are you related to the family ??
