The father of William M. Wade and P. (Pleasant) M. Wade and the grandfather of Timothy W. Wade and William W. Wade, was listed in the following history book, "Tennessee, The Volunteer State", as MILTON WADE, who moved from from the Old Dominion (Virginia) to Tennessee when William M. Wade was but a young lad. William M. Wade married Caroline V. Eastham who was born in Tennessee, a daughter of Dr, George W. Eastham and who came to Tennessee from the Carolinas and practiced medicine in Smithville, TN for many years. He was a farmer and merchant, owning land in DeKalb County, TN and conducting a mercantile business in Smithville, TN. One of his sons, P.M. Wade was the first county clerk of DeKalb County and the family has figured prominently there for many years.
