In response to the 2008 message from Madeline Van Hoose, I am researching the William Mullens I (1670-1709) line of Christ Church Parish, Middlesex County, VA. The William Mullens III who was born in 1725 and died in 1791, is actually the grandson of Elizabeth Lee I who married William Mullens I around 1695 in New Kent County, VA, and both lived and died in Middlesex County, VA. I know that William III was a resident of Henry County, VA, in 1779, from a rent role source I found on-line, and that he died in January, 1791, in St. Martin's Parish in Hanover County, VA.
Elizabeth Lee II was born on 11 Aug 1678 and died on 02 Apr 1726 in Christ Church Parish, Middlesex County, VA. Her father was Thomas Lee (1641-1709) who had at least two siblings, Charles and Mary; her mother, Elizabeth (Lawson?) I, was born around 1654 and died around 1700. At one time, I had thought Elizabeth II was the "Elizabeth Medstaid Lee" who was the daughter of MAJ Charles Constable Lee and of the Richard Henry Lee family. But, although a "no go," there is still additional research yet to be done to figure out exactly where Thomas Lee fits into the rest of the larger Lee family.
William Mullens III may well have resided in Stafford County at one time. After all, he did live in the Virginia counties of Hanover, Lunenburg, Franklin, and Henry during his lifetime.
