Tom, I should have been more specific. The 1850 and 1870 US Census for Pierrepont, St Lawrence, NY shows Abigail Majors birth place VT.The 1860 US Census same location shows birth place NY.From these census records her estimated birth is 1786-1789.
Abigail "Bellows" Majors is possibly the dau of James Bellows b 1756 (possibly Long Island, Queens, New York, USA)and Tryphena Chandler.Rodrick H Burnham in his book says she is the Dau of James Bellows. He has often been incorrect in his book.
James Bellows had children in Hartford, Hartford, CT 1781-1783-- Lebanon, New London, CT 1785-1791 and Fairfax, Franklin, VT 1796-1805
James Bellows and George Majors Sr were neighbors in Fairfax, Franklin, VT.Both were Rev War vets.
James Bellows vouched for George Majors Sr on his pension application. He, probably, would not have if he did not have first hand knowledge of his service.Perhaps, they met at The Battle for Bennington, NY (now VT.)VT did not exist as a State until after the Rev War.
George Majors Jr was married to Abigail Bellows 30 Dec 1813 at Underhill, Chittenden, VT, USA by Justice of the Pease Caleb Sheldon placed in record at Underhill 8 March 1814.
So, Circumstances say James and Abigail Bellows are related but, is Abigail the dau of James Bellows or a visiting relative?Who are her parents?
