I looked the family up in the Census records and James, wife and family are living in White River, Woodruff Co., AR in 1910. James b. abt. 1869, AL, married abt. 16 yrs, and farm laborer. Docia C. b. AL, 35 yrs old, had given birth to 7 children & 6 were alive in 1910. Andy A., b. AR, 15, farm laborer; James E., 13, farm laborer; Johnson L., 9; Eual, 7; Claude C., 5 and Ruby 6/12ths.
On Sept. 12, 1918 Johnson Lewis French filled out his World War I Draft Reg. Card. He was living in Fetzburg, Woodruff Co., AR, born. 10 July 1900. He was farming for James French, same address. His nearest relative was Jim French. He was medium height & build w/ gray eyes & light-colored hair.
In 1920 the family was still living in White River. Two children were added to the family; Lois A., b. abt. 1914 and Werney L. b. abt. 1915.
I couldn't find most of this family in the 1930 Census.

Ruth B. French of Rolling Bay Bainbridge Island died Aug. 27 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She was 90. She was born. June 4, 1915 in Augusta, Ark., to Eleridge and Elsie Bryant. She worked as a school bus driver on Bainbridge Island for 15 years until retirement. She was a resident of Bainbridge Island for 50 years. She loved sports, especially the Seattle Mariners, and gardening. She also enjoyed supporting the Special Olympics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warnie L. French, in 1960 and her son Robert L. French in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Janette Perrett of Kent; sons Warnie L. (Mary) French of Republic, Wash., Daryl La Don (Rana) French of Bainbridge Island and Kenneth L. French of Kent; her grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Private services with burial will be held in Kane Cemetery. A party in her remembrance will be held at noon Sept. 3, at her home. Memorials may be made to the Bainbridge Island Fire Department or the Bainbridge Island Little League Club. Arrangements are by Kass & Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island. A Claud French was living in White River, AR in 1930. He had been married abt. 4 yrs & was general farmer. His wife Nina was b. AR, 24 yrs old and dau. Betty D. b. AR 2 7/12ths.
A Johnson L. French, wife and children were living in Earlsboro, Pottawatomie Co., OK. Johnson was b. AR, 29 yrs old, married abt. 9 yrs & laborer at lumber yard. Mena L. was b. AR, 28 yrs old. Son Johnson L. Jr., b. AR & 8 and son Harrold L. b. AR 5.
A Claude French, 431-07-1319, b. 1 July 1904, d. April 1955. His soc. sec # was assigned AR before 1951.
