I see this is your first posting on Genforum, at least under this user name. So, the first thing will be to do some training on posting. When you post, post the critical information as you know it.You identified you didn't know their DOB's, the most important criteria information. But you identified where they were born, possibly living in Colorado before moving to Everett.
Okay, how did you know they were born where identified?Did you know them yourself, or a child of theirs? Not knowing their DOB's is no problem, IF you can identify some idea of age.For example, how old were children at a particular time?Miss White graduated from Everett in 1955.Or, they moved to Everett in the 1930's, elderly to live with someone. You wrote "The Family..." what do you know about the family.Do you know what Ernest did for a living? Was this move to Everett a permanent move, or just a career move, moving with the Navy for example. Was he military?Being born in NY, wife from IA, lived in CO, that is an indication.Do you know if they stayed in Everett?Do you know when or where they died?Did they divorce?Any marriage info on children?Basically, give information about the family that can be used for research.
Washington Death Certificate Index:
Ernest Joseph White, died 14 Oct 1954, Seattle, age 53, father Ernest A. White, mother Caroline Russel. There is no proof this is the correct person.
Lila White, Petitioner, Snohomish Superior Court, filed 02/20/1991, Case Number 91-2-01093-3.This case involved:
Norita J. Johnston, Petitioner; and James Schierman, Respondent, Cause: Unlawfl Harrassment.
--Norita was born June 29, 1937 (Johnston may not be maiden name), was living at 2514 and also 1724 Walnut Street, Everett, WA in 1997.There was a Jean W. White at the 2514 address in 1991, there is NO PROOF they were related or even lived there at the same time.
---This person appears to be the correct Lila.
Social Security Death Index:
Lila White, born 13 Mar 1907, died Mar 1987, "last residence" Wenatchee, Chelan County, WA.
--The "last residence" on the SSDI is NOT necessarily where a person actually lived or died. The Social Security Administration calls it simply the "home of record."It is not necessarily where any benefit was paid to the person, survivor, or the lumpsum death benefit (in 1972 was paid to anyone paying burial expenses, family member, funeral home, city/county, attorney). It is sometimes the location where the notification of death was sent to the SSA, sometimes where the lump sum death benefit was sent.
The WA Death Index shows Lila M. White, died 16 Mar 1987 in Wenatchee, born about 1907.
--The Chelan County Recorder showed four documents in the name of Lila White. The first was a UCC (Uniform Commerical Code) recorded 5/21/1973, under the names of Ernest J. White and Lila M. White, the Secured Party was the Seattle First National Bank.(This appears to be a lien placed on property, a Condo?).The other three appear to continue the UCC.The fourth Purged the UCC on 4/1/1987, after her death. No image available on any of the four.I did check the King County Recorder (and the Snohomish Recorder) but no findings. The Chelan Co Auditor/Recorder could be contacted about this issue to determine if there were additional information, BUT, since this appears to be the correct person, her obituary would probably be more of value...IF she actually DIED in Chelan County.
The Wenatchee Area Genealogical Society has placed a notice they have the obit on Lila Mae White.
General site: http://www.wags-web.org/obits.htmlhttp://www.wags-web.org/obits.html
Obtain this obit and see what information or family members it produces.
There are also City Directories (Polks) that could identify them in the yearly publication.Other local information might be available.I'd suggest obtaining the obit, then IF applicable, repost additional information on the Rootsweb Message Board (has more readers) and possibly at least One qualified genealogy volunteer in Wenatchee.
The following identifies a possible person with NO PROOF WHAT-SO-EVER.This Lila was born in 1907 in Iowa, and married to a person 10 years older.IF, IF, she divorced, she COULD have married White; but there is NO proof of that. This is why your additional information MIGHT be able to not only prove/disprove this person, but might lead to the correct one.
A family tree identifies a Lila May Brown, born 1907 in Iowa, married 20 Oct 1927 to a William John Groth (1896-1982) in Brown, South Dakota.William died 19 Mar 1982 in Florida. He had previously married a Hannah Teskie in 1923, in Crete, Sargent Co, ND.
--The Marriage document shows both living in Aberdeen, Brown Co.
--The Social Security Death Index: William Groth, born 10 Jul 1896, died Mar 1982, SSN issued in Iowa before 1951, "last residence" Fort Pierce, Saint Lucie, FL.Florida Death Index: William John Groth.
--WWI Draft, William Groth, born July 10, 1896, born in Oakes, ND, living in Oakes.Father Fred, born in IL.1920 Census: Frederich Groth and Rosette Groth.
The 1910 Census for Waterman, O'Brien County, Iowa
