Death of G. C. Wendler
Gustave C. Wendler died at his home near Cottonwood Tuesday at 6 p.m., after a short illness from pneumonia.Mr. Wendler was a native of Germany, having been born in Berlin, February 18th, 1842 where he was educated and grew to manhood.He came to America in 1863 and made his early home in the northern part of the state of Minnesota where he resided until the autumn of 1901, when he followed the tide of emmigration further, settling in his present home near the Cottonwood.
Mr. Wendler belonged to that thrifty class of German citizens who always make a home and friends wherever their lot be cast, and he leaves a good home and many friends who will miss his energy and kindness as a neighbor.He leaves a wife and seven children, consisting of three sons and four daughters, all of whom are grown to man and womanhood excepting three.
The funeral sermon will be held at home, Saturday, the 25th at 10 o'clock a.m. and the remains will be laid to rest in the Chewelah cemetery in the afternoon.The services will be conducted by Rev. J. T. Percival of Spokane.
