Thank you for the information. I did contact the librarian at the State. Someone from the Walla Walla County website suggested I do that. When I sent my request to the State, I only asked for the obit in Walla Walla, and asked that they look in the city directories for the first time Mary & her husband, Mr. TOWN, appeared. The librarian got back to me with scanned copies of a page in the 1970 city directory and the newspaper obit from the Walla Walla newspaper. The newspaper said Mary's funeral service and burial would be in Colville. I didn't want to bother the librarian with another request for the newspaper in Colville as I know they are probably swamped with requests from others. I used the inter-library loan system to order the microfilm for the paper in Colville and will look for the obit myself. I'm pretty sure there should be one, as her family was in the area for quite a long time. I'm just waiting for the microfilm to arrive now.
I sent a letter to Danekas Funeral Chapel about Mary and her husband. They were really great and sent back copies of what they had in their funeral books and copies of cemetery maps that were marked where Mary and both her 1st and 2nd husband were buried. I will look at the website you provided for those buried in Highland.
Thank you again for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate any help I can get.
