Donald Alexander KENNEDY (b Oct 1838 SCOTLAND) & Margaret CHARTERS (b 1850 Tuckersmith Ontario) raised a family of thirteen children in Ashland during the 1880's and through the 1920's.George WALKER CHARTERS (b 1853 Tuckersmith) and William CANDLISH CHARTERS (b 1841 Kirkcudbright Scotland), Margaret's brothers, were also there, as well as others, in the lumber business. They were scalers, explorers, carpenters, architects, and superintendents of the Kennedy Mill on the wharf. Several generations emerged during this time. KENNEDY daughters married KENNEDY, COUGHLIN, DONNELLY, MCGOWAN, DESNOYES, and ???.
