OLIVE ESTHER, daughter of SETH M. and SARAH E. SMITH, was born at Bethel Grove, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, December 23, l852, and died at Leon, Iowa, at the home of her daughter, MRS. BESSIE MILLSAP, March l8, l9l9, aged 66 years, two months and 22 days.
Her husband, J.W. PRITCHARD, preceded her in death only a year and a half.In the year, l868, she came with her parents to Grant, Montgomery County, Iowa.In the year, l870, was married to J.W. PRITCHARD, of West Milford, West Virginia.To this union eight children were born, three sons and five daughters, two daughters dying in infancy, one son, OTTO, died at the age of 33 years.Five children are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother; J.F. PRITCHARD, of Climax, Iowa; EDWARD, of Adams, Minnesota; MRS. MAUDE DAVIS, Bethany, Neb.; MRS. IRA BENTON, Altoona, Iowa; MRS. BESSIE MILLSAP, Leon, Iowa, besides fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild, three brothers and two sisters, JOHN R. SMITH, Valentine, Neb.; SETH E. SMITH, West Plaines, Mo.; FRANK E. SMITH, Kettle Falls, Wash.; MRS. LAURA E. PIERCE, Red Oak, Ia.; MRS. ERA MANGUNSON, Long Beach, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
MR. and MRS. B.E. MILLSAP, MR and MRS. J.F. PRITCHARD, MR. and MRS. I.C. BENTON and children and JOHN R. SMITH accompanied the remains to Shenandoah where the funeral was held at Bantz & Chapman's Chapel, Thursday, March 29, l9l9, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. John Todd.Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband.
