I had a closer look in my files and found out that our relatives name was
Karl Friedrich Kiefert died at Freudenberg January 4th, 1849 in the age of 63 years, 6 months, 14 days
so he must have been born Jun 20th, 1785. The documents say in Rauten in Silesia.
We know that he movedin the war against Napoleon at least to Borgholzhausen a place near Bielefeld in western Germany where his daughter Anna Catherine Henriette Kiefert was born February 7th, 1824. The baptism witnesses were Mrs. Marie Poettings, Mrs. Anna Marie Langeluetken and another man having the same profession like Karl Kiefert, his name was Mr. Ottensmeyer.
Anna Catherine Henriette Kiefert married March 14th, 1874 Tillmann Irle and died March 15th, 1875. We do have a list of the remainders she left, but nothing reads as if the iron cross of her father (decoration from the war against Napoleon) was in her possessions.
Karl Kiefert was married with Hanna Catherine Spangenberg who was born in the military area of Wesel which is still there today. Her father was in the division "Nr. 48 Kurfuerst von Hessen-Kassel". We do not have the marriage certificate but we assume the marriage took also place in the military area somewhere.
Hanna Catherine Spangenberg died one year after Karl Kiefert November 7th, 1850. That's all I have.
