The "Irish Genealogist" in one of their annuals published genealogy of Aylward.I received a print-out of it from a Barry Oliver who is active on the Gen-Forum Aylward list. From that info I guessed that Patrick and Mary Walsh Aylward were probably my Edward/Edmund parents. The print-out also said that Edward m. Kitty Raftis daughter of William and Ellen Raftis, and went to NY in 1860. Knowing the Irish aren't too fussy abt. time, that didn't change my mind. There is also a Family Tree listed on "World Connect" which gives a couple of generations of Raftis, ending with a Kitty Raftis. who m. an unknown Aylward. Also The "Irish Genealogist" cites the Raftis book as it's source.
There is also a part of the 1821 Kilkenny census that lists Patrick and Mary Aylward also names and ages of children. Gravestone erected by 2 of children lists names and dods of Patrick,Mary and all children in census except Ed, 2 who erected Stone and 1 sister.
Am now packing for my annual migration to AR; we leave the 31st. We will still be using yahoo for e-mail.
LDS libraries have a microfilm on the religeous parish of Mullinavat. In AR I hope to get hold of that film. Everything the priest told you, all seem to fit.A little more verification and I will really believe it. This is the 1st of all my G-Grandparents Irish roots I have been able to discover. The hunt for the Raftis book is on.joan
