Hi Donna, Thank you so much for your response.I definitely think it is something worth pursuing. There has been a lot of confusion surrounding Caroline. Her and her husband Isaac only had one child. His name was William J. (or W.J.) DeVoe and he was very active in the community and church. His wife was a Hamlin and she was accidentally killed in her home by gunshot.WJ after losing his father(1890) and wife(1891)now seems to only have his mother left. WJ remarried in 1892 and at some point moved to MI.I can't imagine him leaving his mother but you never know.A cousin of mine, Brenda, noticed that cemetary records indicate that WJ's wife was buried next to his father in Plainfield Cem. Waushara Co. WI.Samuel was Isaacs brother.Samuel had 2 wives, Eliza and Charlotte. It is possible that if WJ had removed to MI and left his mother in the care of his uncle or other family, then maybe there was some confusion regarding the obit and that is why we haven't been able to find it.Brenda also was the one who noticed that a Caroline had been buried at that Sept. 1894 date.I'm going to follow up on what you sent me and hopefully be able find some answers.thanks again for your help.
