Looking to contact descendants of Frank Leach, his wife Arabella Hill, their son-in-law, Frank J. McPherson, Frank's son, Harry McPherson. These folks were founders of the Frank Leach Hardware Co. which operated in Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin from 1849 until at least 1972. Information in a 1972 article written about this firm says it began in 1849 as a general store on sixth Street, just west of Kansas Street (now South Main).A short time later, Frank and Arabella took over a hardware firm at Seventh & Kansas (S. Main). The retail hardware store operated until 1937.At that time the firm began to concentrate exclusively on producing sheet metal parts for industrial use. Officers of the firm in 1972 were listed as Harry McPherson, President & General Manager, W. K. Watts, Vice-President, Eleanor L. McPherson, Secretary, and Edwin H. Berndt, Treasurer. Frank Leach is a distant ancestor of mine and I am anxious to find out about his father, Waterman Leach and mother, Tryphena Stratton.Tryphena's sister, Venlora, was married to my g-g-g-grandfather, Ezra Cole. Prior to marrying Ezra, Venlora had been married to Lemuel Leach, Waterman's brother. Lemuel died young leaving Venlora with 4 young sons.
