I have learned some about the Davis Home, but am stuck in locating information about any particular person that lived there.I don't even know if that kind of information is available to the public and/or family members, or if that information is still around (has it been destroyed by now?) Someone provided me with the name of Gary Yakes, who was president of the E.B. Davis Home for Orphans in 1995.I thought if I could locate him, perhaps he could put me on the trail of locating this information. I would be most interested to know how my grandfather ended up on the McSchooler farm, upon leaving the orphanage. I have learned in recent months that my grandfather ended up in the orphanage because Lora (Himebaugh) Smith was diagnosed with TB shortly after returning to Oshkosh. At least now I know it was something serious that forced her to make that decision.
