Omro Journal Thursday, September 26, 1883 p. 5 Death of Mrs. M. D. Morris. Last Sunday morning at five o’clock Mrs. M. D. Morris breathed her last at the residence of her father, Hon. H. W. Webster. She had been sick for some time, and, in order to afford her a change of atmosphere and surroundings Mr. Webster had her brought from her home at Allen’s Grove, Walworth Co., to this village. But all to no purpose. Her disease -- consumption -- would not, under the ablest and tenderest care, give way, and now her family and friends mourn the loss of one who was beloved by all who knew her.She was a lady of culture and refinement and possessed a character so good and so true that she was universally admired and esteemed.Mrs. M. was born in this town, grew up from girlhood to womanhood among us, graduated from our high school in 1873, and in 1875 was married here.Later she moved with her husband to Merrill, and subsequently to Allen’s Grove, the home of Mr. M’s parents.Mr. Morris arrived here a day or two before his wife’s death. He has the sympathy of all in this sad bereavement. Mr. Babcock conducted the funeral ceremonies at the residence of Mr. Webster on Monday.
