Hi Bernard--thanks for answering my message in genforum. [I tried sending this to you yesterday and your e-mail address did not work--will check my files later today].When I find stuff in my files I will also answer you there but thought I would also send you a personal mail.I have recently been incontact with another descendant of Abraham [John Arnn]who has a Clay Arnn in his line [married to Dolly Sadler] --is this the same line as yours? This Clay Arnn is the gggggrandson ofAbraham Sr and the ggggrandson of George Washington Aaron/Arnn, Sr.
John also mentioned the ancestor from the Barbados [at least I think it was the same fellow] - Abraham Burges[s] Aaron.I have a notation about a ship's record of his arrival somewhere in my files.
I would be glad to share my information; I have a fairly extensive database on the family plus more that I have not input. The majority of my information is on Isaac Aaron/Arnn, Sr. and his descendants [my ancestor among Abraham, Sr.'s sons].I do have more data not yet incorporated into my files on George Washington Aaron/Arnn, Sr. and his descendants. This was provided to me in conjunction with a DAR application for a distant cousin.
I wondered if there was not a tie to the Slaytons--I have read enough of Pittsylvania County censuses that I am familiar with the families and the Slaytons certainly have been there as long as the Aaron family. Are you still there? My Arnn [Isaac, Sr. changed the spelling prior to 1800] who migrated west was Berryman and he was gone by 1840 so my info on the family in VA is primarily from the family history by Larry Aaron.Do you have a copy?It is a tremendous resource on the early generations in VA.Let me know if you need the info.
Also, may I invite you to join our listserv [do not think you are on it].It is sponsored by rootsweb and it a discussion of the surname Aaron, Aron, Arnn, etc.If you want to join you may do so by going to:
and doing a search for the surname Aaron. The information about the list is on there as well as resources for information on the surname that are available at rootsweb. My database is also loaded there on worldconnect. My data are under "jarnn" when you see the results of your search.
Thanks for the info--I will look for those files and post more at genforum
