I don't know if this helps, but in some material that a friend sent me, (not my Abbotts as far as I know) Elizabeth Abbott b. 1753, NJ, d. 8-18-1841, PA, married James Sutton Peterson, Sr. 1767, son of Thomas Coates Sutton. James Peterson was a Tory, and veteran of the Rev. War. Lived near Red Bank, Monmouth Co., NJ. Then he moved to Pike Run, Wash. Co., PA before settling in Crawford Co., PA. He changed his name from Sutton to Peterson. Eliz. dau. of Abdon Abit, Sr. and Eliz. Blew of Pittsgrove. Abdon's parents: Abdon, and Martha from Huntington, Long Island. Money owed to her in Salem, NJ.
