Have a G. W. Abbott m. to Mary. Looks like the birthdate is 1874, top part is hard to read., but wife b. 1880. Gravemarker state baby in this plot also.
My great-great grandfather is William Augusta Abbot, b. 1837, his father is Benjamin Franklin Abbott, b. 1812. There is a Jim Abbott, b. 1866, but I am not sure if this is the same Jim tht Abbott, TX is named for, or not.
G. W. is probably George Washington Abbott. We have George Washington everyone else! My great-grandfather is Silas Alexander Abbott who lived in Beaukiss, TX. They connect to the Lawrence families, i.e. Adam Lawrence, who donated Lawrence Chapel. He is a descendant of Augustine Washington line. I thought everyone being named George Washington Something or Other was just a trend of the times, until I noticed way too many in all of my lines. Since mother and father's lines go into many of the same, and all meet at Washington, I figured out the connection. There is a big Abbott line in OK that has the Triplett surname, of which I also have in my mother's line. Can't connect them (yet!). There is also an Abbott line linked with Martha Dandridge Custis Washington. It has a Custis/Justice/Abbott/Lawrence surname group, but I can't connect with them other than a long collaterral through Robert E. Lee, and Mary Custis. But these lines connect somehow in many ways, I am sure of it.
I am stuck at Benjamin Franklin Abbott, who m. Caroline Pickett Willis. I think he was b. AL or GA, and she was b. in TN.I also hae connection w/Col. Henry Willis and Mildred Warner, but can't connect to Abbotts that way either. Looks likely. Family tree going in one big circle! So frustrating.
