'Lots of info'?Fabulous.I am looking for any supplimental Abbott (incl. source) info you have.Particularly ancestors from Helen "Ella" Abbott (born in DeCatur County, Indiana July 30, 1854 and deceased Feb. 11, 1929 -Cedar Cemetary- Smith Center, Kansas)on up.
My info comes from family research done in the 1940's & I have some great supplimental info collected prior to & ongoing since re: Helen "Ella" Abbott (8th generation from George) & her Kansas Pioneer (1881)/Civil War Veteran Husband Stephen Nonamaker (1844-1933).This includes pictures, newspaper clippings, detailed family testimonials, Stephens battle recounts, Stephens testimony of seeing Pres. Lincoln twice (1st just after the battle of Antietm on the early dawn of Setp. 17, 1862 where Lincoln reviewed the Army of the Potomac at Fairfax Station --when McClellan was removed from command & succeeded by General Burnside-- and the 2nd time while on the picket line when Lee surrendered at Appomattox, Va. April 9th 1865 & Stephen staying around after at Petersburg & vicinity to issue rations to the destitute people & care for the emancipated slaves until he was mustered out Jan. 29th, 1866, etc.) War Dept. enrollments/rankings/discharges/pension records; homestead info and tax records, marriage record, baptisim, church membership, timber claim, pics & info on old, old family cemetary w/ his GAR Post No. 184 (aka Charles Aldrich post 184) erected monument; & even a scratchy audio tape made in the 1960's of Laura -- Hellen "Ella" Abbott's & Stephen Nonamaker's daughter -- talking about wagon memories around turn of the century, etc. Granted, most of my supplimental info is on Hellen Abbott's Husband Stephen Nonamaker.Hellen Abbott was my paternal Grandfather's maternal Grandmother (he, my paternal Grandfather, Walter, is still living & was 15 years old when Hellen Abbott passed).
SO, while I don't know if any of the aforementioned info as recent as 1844 & primarily of that 8th generational marriage line would be particularly beneficial to you, but I would sure love any supplimental source info, records, --(everything!) you have for her ancestors to save me from duplicating record retrieval & I'd be happy to exchange what supplimental info I have (primarily 8th generation-on) likewise. Sincerely, Andrea Downs
