Thank you so much for responding.I didn't have the connection between the Sr. Richard and the other Jefferson county Abbotts. All I had was an abstract of a will for Richard, who d. between 6 apr and 9 Jun 1795 in Jefferson county. He had listed wife Elizabeth, sons John and Gabriel and 2 daughters.
I had a John William Abbott, born 1760; d. Jun 1834 in Indiana; m. 17 Jun 1793 in Jefferson county, KY - Amanda Margaret Spangler, widow of William (b. ca 1750 in Wurttemburg, Germany; d. before 4 Jul 1782 in Jefferson County KY). I had children William, b. ca 1786 Jeff. Co. KY; daughter Millie Abbott, b. 20 Mar 1788; d. 12 Nov 1840 in (Possibly) Warren Co. Illinois; m. George Peter Peckinpaugh 24 Dec 1807 in Breckenridge Co. KY; Johnson Abbott, b. Jeff. Co. KY, m. Hanna Bartley; Nancy, m. David Irvin, m/2 John Hamilton; and Rebecca, b. KY, d. 24 Mar 1894 in Halsey, Oregon, m. 6 Aug 1818 in Clark Co. IN Gabriel Cummings, m/2 Hugh Gilworth 32 Aug 1826 in Clark Co. IN.
I had found the marriage of Richard Abbott and Elizabeth Feavors (10 May 1785 in Jefferson county KY), but couldn't connect him to the Sr. Richard.
Then I had a James Abbott, Sr., will prob. Nov 1819 in Clark Co. IN, from Jeff. Co. Ky, granted 145 acres in Clark Co. IN 11 Feb 1799 (the Clark Grant), who m. Margaret (Peggy).10 children listed:James, John, Peggy, William, Elizabeth, Isaac, Sally, Levina, David and Polly.Polly was married to David Huckleberry and had a son James.
Richard Abbott's will (1796 Jeff. Co. KY) was appraised by George Huckleberry.George's son John, b. ca 1769, had children by first wife, unknown - Levina, b. 1797, and Edmund, b. 1799, both b. KY.Then John Huckleberry m/2 the widow Elizabeth Murdick (or Murdock) in Jeff. Co. KY on 11 Nov 1799.I'm wondering whether one of John's wives may have been connected with the Abbott's - they were connected through wills, but there is no other proof found so far regarding marriages. And the above James Abbott having a daughter Levina had me intrigued.
I do have some other Abbott marriages, found in CD's for KY and VA, if you would like them.Could you send me what you have re dates and places, maybe we could fill in some gaps. Thanks again.
