Joan: It has been several years since I was researching my mother's family line, Abbott.
Thomas FELTON was born Abt. 1800 in Alleghany County, PA; and died 1860-1870 Linden Twp., Christian County, MO. He married (1) Mary GLOVER, who died bef. 1837.He married (2) Matilda PARKER, born Abt. 1810 TN.
According to the 1860 census, Thomas and Matilda had six children living at home. Their oldest daughter, Louisa FELTON (born 21 Mar 1838) had married George W. ABBOTT (See Household #705)
(2) Matilda Emeline FELTON Age: 17 (born Abt. 1842-1843)
(3) Benjamin FELTON Age: 14 (born Abt. 1845-1846)
(4) Marion FELTON Age: 12 (born Abt. 1847-1848)
(5) Sarah Elmira FELTON Age: 11 (born Abt. 1848-1849)
(6) Elinder FELTON Age: 09 (born abt. 1851-1852)
(7) "Munro" (Monroe) FELTON Age: 07 (born Abt. 1853-1854).
According to the 1870 census of Linden Township in Household #662 Family #232, Matilda (Parker) FELTON was age 58 and listed as "keeping house" with these four children:

(3) Maryaner Age: 23
(4) "Elmira" Age: 21
(5) "Munro" AgeL 19
In the 1870 census, living next door to his mother in Household #663, Family #223 was son, Benjamin FELTON, age 24, with his wife, Martha ABBOTT, age 22, with two children: Laura, age 3, and Ulisses (Ulysses), age 7 months.
(Martha ABBOTT was the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Adams) ABBOTT.
