I believe that David Abbott b. 1802 in the Gwinnett Co., GA census is the s/o Matthew Abbott but as yet have not found proof. In all census' he listed his birthplace as SC.He names a son Matthew Barton.

Matthew Abbott b. ca 1770 had children Temperance, Clementine, Barton and Anson that I have proven. According to the 1810 census of Spartanburg Dist. 23301 20110, he had 8 sons 3 daughters.I know from a pension application that he had a son born Aug 24, 1790. I know that he was living in Pickens Dist. SC (now Oconee Co.) in 1851.He apparently died after that before the 1860 census.
I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they might be connected to this line.
