John Abbott [who settled on the north bank of Crosswicks creek on the road leading from Bordentown to Hamilton [then Nottingham square] was born in Yorkshire, england in 1660 or 1662. He was a wheelwright. He married Anne, daughter of Edmund and Anne Mauleverer. He was a prominent member of the society of Friends but was neve a pracher. He died in August 1737 or 1739 at the age of 77 or 79. His widow died in Feb. 1754 at aged 76. They had ten children. Seven daughters and three sons. The daughters married into the Ellis, Biles, Burr and Williams families. At death, he divided his planation into two equal parts, and bequeathed to his youngest, Samuel, 25 pounds of English sterling. John, the oldest son, never married. He left what was left of his farm to his nephew Samuel, son of Timothy Abbott. Timothy Abbott, the second son of John and Anne M. was born on the homestead farm in Feb 1717. he was also a member of the society of Friends. [Monthly Meeting [Crosswicks] He married Anne Satterthwaite, a widow, in Sept. 1746. They had ten children, eight sons and two daughters. Both daughters died in infancy. Samuel, the 2nd son married Lucy, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Lawrie of Burlington co., William, the fifth son, married Helena Lawrie, a sister of Sarah, and subsequently Rebecca Holloway of Burlington Co.Timothy, the seventh son, married Rebecca, daughter of Peter & Sarah Howard of Philadelphia and subsequently, Anne, daughter of Joshua and Rebecca Newbold, of Trenton, then Hunterdon co. He died on the farm in Nov. 1776, in the 60th and his widow died in Sept. 1777. David, the eighth son, married Margery, daughter of Hugh and Mary Smith of Philadelphia. John the oldest son, married susannah, daughter of Joseph & Elizabeth Bullock [Chesterfield Monthly Meeting Recds-John, of Nottingham s/o Timothy & Ann, and Susannah Bullock, of New Hanover Twp., dau. of Joseph & Elizabeth, at Upper Freehold Meeting, 17th 9th mo 1778]. He had ten children 4 sons & 6 daugh: Anne [oldest] married Thomas Collins; Elizabeth married Solomon W. Conrad of Philadelphia. the other daughter did not marry. John Abbott died Oct 1800 aged 62 and his widow died in Feb in her 80th year. Joseph Abbott, oldest of John & Susannah Bullock married Anne, d/o John and Amy Rickey of Trenton. They had six sons and five daughter, five of whom survived. George and Ephraim were Merchants; John R.and Joseph were farmers and Thomas died in boyhood. Timothy Abbott b. June 3, 1809 married his cousin Susan, d/o Solomon White Conrad and Elizabeth Abbott. Joseph, their son was b. in 1837 and killed at the Battle of Bull Run. Francis, in 1857, entered the banking house of Drexel. the youngest son, Charles Conrad Abbott b. 1843 he married Feb 13, 1867 to Julia, d/o of the late Job G. Olden of Princeton. Joseph Gardiner Abbott married Maria d/o Thomas Harrison and when she died he married Martha Ellis. He died in 1878. This is not my line - this is all I have.
