Gosh, I was cleaning stuff out this morning....I think the Abbott family with William Abbott and his father, William Abbott was a buckskin pants maker is the OK Abbott line. I had some material from the family section in the Clayton Library (Houston, TX) and I read through that briefly today. It was by a woman named Gunderson (I copied it 10 years ago). They marry into Haynes and Triplett, which I DO have, but I don't know how my Abbott line ties to any big line, yet.
OK, this William was b. 1782, NC and he married Penelope Newsome in Warrenton GA 8-8-`8`2. Penelope b. 1791, NC. Their son was Barnabus Bass Abbott who married Sarah Roach, 7-3-1856, Barbour CO., AL. Thier son is James B. Abborr b. 2-28-1861, Cass Co., TX. Barnabus takes off to MS to join 2nd MS Cav.3-19-1862, captured in Brentwood, TN. Escaped, captured again in Selma, AL.
So, maybe no connection here, but maybe someone is looking for these Abbotts.
I think they probably tie to me but I am looking for Benjamin Franklin Abbott b. 1812, TN m. Caroline Pickett Willis.
So, sending this info off by mail to a friend to look through.
Notes say: Barnabus, James, Jourdan, and Martha moved to OK. Jourdan Abbott of Ada OK.
I have some lineages in a drawer if anyone is intereted. But throwing stuff out, so they better hurry. LOL.
