Hi Gil...it's been nine years! I am still stuck, but tracking most of the Abbott lines keeps bringing me back to the Heil Abbott line, just no Benjamin F. Abbott. Now I wonder if his name is Fenton instead of Franklin. Anyway, the Snow you mentioned before makes me think you are in the Key/Abbott/Weems lines. That is where I see Snow surname several times. I connect to the Weems (Weymss) line on my father's Abbott side, through Nancy Jane Weems m. William Augusta Abbott. They Key/Weems/Abbott, is Wilbourn Abbott/Millstead/Key lines that is, James Weems, who had a daughter named Nancy (and she is 1st cousin to my Nancy Jane, dau. of John Russom Weems). The Key line goes to Francis Scott Key.
Chappells, well, they join to many folks, I am certain, but what ALL of these surname have in common is BRIGGS, I have two Chappells in Briggs line and a couple of Jones lines that tie to Edwards and Wroe. The Wroes in my lines tie to the Briggs and the Judith Wore, Judith Browne lines.. And, My George W. Briggs connects to the McWhirters. This is through Sarah McWhirter.
I bet all of these people connect to the Washington lines, as everyone does, probably for these folks, through Browne or Butler. Another common tie with Abbottis Hanyes/Briggs/French/Miller/ and the Washington lines is the surname TRIPLETT.
The Chiltons may also be a connector. Try all of these in your searches with your lines, and maybe we can find the Fentons.
